01 — About

I co-founded ilove.me in 2016 and Contabeleza in 2022 and run engineering at both — B2B SaaS for the Brazilian beauty/wellness and accounting markets, remote from Portugal. I've been shipping software since 2009: agency work in Lisbon first, then front-end lead at BestTables, a restaurant-booking startup TripAdvisor acquired in 2015.

I built ilove.me's platform from an empty repository; it has since processed 10+ million appointments for 2.5+ million people. Frontend is my depth — thirteen years in Ember.js, carrying one production codebase from Ember 2 to Ember 7 without ever rewriting it, and three years co-authoring a production React 19 + TypeScript application. Underneath both products I build and operate the platform — Kubernetes and Helm, with Terraform — and own CI/CD across the company's repositories, backend services as well as front ends.

Since early 2025 my focus has been making a decade-old codebase safe for AI-assisted work: architecture rules, dead-code and duplication detection, and lint and coverage gates that run before anything lands. It has made us significantly more productive without giving up quality — the gates are what make that trade unnecessary. What I do, and want to keep doing, is build and steer the technical direction of a product.

I built my first websites with table layouts in Dreamweaver, for IE6. The web has reinvented itself several times since, and I've shipped through every one of them. This time it's agents.

    Accounting automation for Brazilian micro-entrepreneurs: tax filing, invoice emission and compliance, built on top of the ilove.me platform. I set technical direction and run a small engineering function.

    2016 —

    Salon and wellness management SaaS for the Brazilian market, built from an empty repository. I own the web platform end to end — two Ember applications and a React one, the Kubernetes and Helm infrastructure beneath them, and CI/CD for the company's repositories.

    2015

    Joined through the acquisition to carry the BestTables product and its customers onto the TheFork platform, then left to found ilove.me.

  4. Lead Front-End Developer · BestTables

    2013 — 2015

    Real-time restaurant booking, near market leader in Portugal with over 1,200 restaurants across Portugal and Brazil. I built Best Manager, their B2B restaurant management system, solo in Ember.js on a two-person product team — including the product for the Brazil expansion, where restaurants run on walk-in queues rather than advance reservations. Later a shareholder; acquired by TripAdvisor in 2015.
